When someone in your Crew genuinely wants to help, money is often not the best answer. OYSTR splits support into three kinds of Fuel, and each one counts as much as the others.
Fuel in Kind
Physical items or resources that help move a mission forward — a laptop for coding, camera gear for a creative project, books for studying.
Fuel in Service
Skills, time, or expertise offered directly: a manuscript review, legal advice, a hand moving equipment. This is often worth more than cash, and it's always available even when a wallet isn't.
Fuel in Cash
Financial support for the steps that genuinely cost something — a plane ticket, a course fee, a deposit. On OYSTR, cash Fuel is unlocked once a dreamer goes Verified, so backers know exactly who they're supporting.
Picking the right Fuel
What matters isn't how much you give — it's whether it matches what you can actually offer right now:
- A student with no budget can still offer hours of feedback.
- A busy mentor can fund a ticket instead of time they don't have.
- A company can offer both Service and Cash through a Partner plan.
